Frequently Asked Questions

Who is behind the Global Vote Project?  GVP is the flagship initiative of Citizen International

Is casting a vote in the Global Vote Project a real vote for the next U.S. President?  No.  Voting in the GVP does not count as a real vote for the next U.S. President.  You vote will be counted symbolically on the GVP site.  Only U.S. Citizens can vote in the U.S. Presidential election, but we wanted to give people around the world an opportunity to weigh in and discuss the issues.  If you are a U.S. Citizen and are looking for information on how to vote in the election, please visit one of these websites to learn how to register.

Why is most of the site in English only?  We are working now to get the Research section translated into several languages.  The discussion forums will be available only in English - simply because we do not have the human or financial resources available at this time to moderate discussions in multiple languages.  Users can cast a vote regardless of language, just click on the photo of the candidate you would like to vote for.

What happens to the personal information I enter when registering? Your email address will not be shared with anyone or other organization.  By registering for the GVP you are allowing Citizen International to contact you every now and then concerning the GVP results and possibly about future Citizen International projects.  The demographic data that you enter in your profile will only be used in the polls and voting feature to give other users an idea of how opinions break down according to certain criteria.  This demographic information will be deleted at the end of the project.

How can I send a question, comment or correction to the GVP staff? You can reach the GVP staff through the "Contact" page or by sending an email to gvp@citizeninternational.org.
